We’ve compiled a list FAQs to help you find the information you’re looking for. If you can’t see the answer to your question, please drop us a message on Facebook, or email email@example.com.
Q. I’m worried about the Coronavirus and travelling, how might this affect my holiday?
A. We are monitoring the situation carefully and have put together advice and FAQs: Coronavirus Advice and FAQs
Q. How many dogs can I bring and do you provide dog facilities?
A. We don’t have a dog limit! All we ask is that if you’re bringing more than 3 dogs, you contact us first so that we can discuss your requirements and advise a suitable Villa. For your convenience and to save car space, a medium sized dog crate with waterproof bedding is provided in your Villa. We also provide a maximum of 2 small blankets to cover the sofas – if your 4 legged friend is fond of a cuddle on the sofa, please bring your own extra blankets. Each garden has an outside shower for sandy paws.
Q. Where are you based?
A. Our site is located at Saunton Beach in North Devon on the Atlantic Coast. Postcode: EX33 1LG. The Villas themselves are located around the edge of Saunton Beach and Braunton Burrows. View a site map.
Q. What is the dog charge?
A. You will be charged £40 in 2020 & 2021 for the first dog per booking/week and the second/subsequent dogs will go free. We also have some dates when there are ‘dogs go free’ periods.
Q. What are your booking options?
A. Our standard booking options are as follows:
3 night weekend breaks (Friday to Monday), 4 night short week breaks (Monday to Friday), and 7 night week breaks (Friday to Friday). We do offer Monday to Monday week breaks, however, these must be arranged over the phone. Please call us on 01271 890052 if you wish to arrange a non-standard break.
Q. What are your payment options?
A. At the time of booking, you may opt to pay the full amount upfront or a 25% deposit. If you choose the pay the 25% deposit, the remaining balance will be due 8 weeks before your check-in date.
Q. Are the Villas accessible for wheelchair users?
Our Villas are generally accessible for wheelchair users with the ability to transfer. All of our Villas are different and some are more accessible to wheelchair users than others. We have compiled an Accessibility Guide which details the accessibility of the Villas, the Beach and the other facilities here. If you’re considering a break and need to discuss accessibility, please get in touch via phone (01271 890052) or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to discuss your requirements.
We are in the process of renovating a bungalow in Braunton (a 5 minute drive from the beach) which will be fully accessible. Free parking at Saunton Beach will be included in the price of all stays at this new property. If you wish to be informed when this renovation is complete, please email email@example.com.
Q. Is linen provided?
A. Linen is provided for all of the beds during your stay, but not for travel cots. We also provide one hand towel and a bath mat. Please do ensure you bring your own personal bath towels with you as these will not be provided. Upon arrival, your villa will have the essentials for a comfortable first night – an oven glove, a tea towel, a dish cloth, a small amount of washing up liquid, one toilet roll and one bin bag.
Q. Do the Villas have ovens?
A. Yes, all Villas have a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, microwave, fridge freezer (different style depending on Villa type), Lavazza coffee machine and a full set of utensils.
Q. Are there supermarkets nearby and do they deliver?
A. Yes, we have a local Tesco in Braunton (3 miles away) and Tesco, Asda and Sainbury’s stores in Barnstaple (10 miles away). All of these supermarkets deliver to our site. When ordering, you will need to use the villa name and number, followed by ‘Saunton Beach Villas, Saunton, North Devon, EX33 1LG’ as the address. Tell them that you will meet them at the Saunton Sands Beach Car Park barrier. They get 20 minutes free turn-around time. We do also ask you to schedule a time that is after the official check in time of 4 pm, and preferably after 5 pm to enable you to check in and settle before the delivery arrives.
Q. Can I have BBQs on the beach or in the Villa gardens?
A. Our site is part of the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Braunton Burrows and therefore we do not encourage BBQs. The Villas are clad in wood and the fencing, gate and picnic bench are also made of wood. We have had guests burn the picnic benches and lawns in the past so we do not encourage their use in the gardens at all. Although we do not encourage the use of disposable BBQs on the beach, if you do choose to use one then we would then ask that you are very careful in their use, and use the dedicated ‘BBQ disposal rubbish bins’ to dispose of the used BBQ.
Q. What about car parking?
A. We allocate 1 free parking space per bedroom in your Villa (4 Berth = 2 free parking spaces, 6 Berth = 3 free parking spaces, 8 Berth = 4 free parking spaces). We have one marked allocated parking space per villa, the other cars can park in any other unmarked space in the car park. Please make sure that you do not park in the allocated spaces for other villas.
You will be granted free access to the car park from midday on your check-in date, until midday on your check-out date. Time spent in the car park outside of these hours will be chargeable. To ensure you don’t incur a parking fee, we ask that you provide us with ALL registration details for your party at least a week before you check in. If you’re expecting day guests, they will be required to pay for parking.
Q. What is the difference between the standard 4 berth Villas and the deluxe 4 berth Villas?
A. The deluxe Villas are our most popular Villas, mostly because they are so close to the beach and enjoy sea views from the gardens. The deluxe Villas are more spacious than the standard 4 berth Villas; with a more open plan layout and much larger gardens. The deluxe Villas also benefit from ‘extras’ including a private parking space away from the main car park and a washer dryer. Owing to ther popularity of the deluxe Villas, we advise booking as far in advance as possible!
Q. What are the check-in and check-out times?
A. Please see our new guidance for check-in and check-out, below. Things have changed slightly due to the Coronavirus pandemic – we very much appreciate your cooperation with these new procedures:
Check-in is now done remotely – there is no need for you to come to Reception when you arrive. A sanitised key will be left in your Villa’s key safe (which will also be sanitised) from 4pm. A key code will be sent to you by text and email by 4pm on the day of your arrival.
Whilst we usually do our best to let guests check in early to their Villa if it is ready, check-in is now strictly from 4pm onwards, for everybody. This ensures that our housekeeping and maintenance teams have ample time to thoroughly clean and check every Villa before allowing new guests to enter the property.
Check-out is by 10am. Prior to check-out, we politely ask that you strip the beds and place bed and pillow covers (NOT mattress protectors or pillow protectors), hand towels and bath mats in the laundry bags provided. Please leave the tea towels and oven gloves on the kitchen table. Before leaving your Villa, you must leave all windows and internal doors open to air out your Villa, ready for the Housekeeping staff to enter.
When you are ready to leave, we ask that you lock your Villa and place the keys back in the key safe and lock it. Please ensure that you are not late checking out (check-out is 10am) – it is very important that our housekeeping team have enough time to clean your Villa before the next check in.
