Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve compiled a list FAQs to help you find the information you’re looking for. If you can’t see the answer to your question, please drop us a message on Facebook, or email bookings@sauntonbeachvillas.co.uk.

How many dogs can I bring and do you provide dog facilities?

We don’t have a dog limit! All we ask is that if you’re bringing more than 3 dogs, you contact us first so that we can discuss your requirements and advise a suitable Villa. Dog crates are available upon request (medium or large). We also provide a maximum of 2 small blankets to cover the sofas – if your 4 legged friend is fond of a cuddle on the sofa, please bring your own extra blankets. Each garden has an outside shower for sandy paws.

Where are you based?

Our site is located at Saunton Beach in North Devon on the Atlantic Coast. Postcode: EX33 1LG. The Villas themselves are located around the edge of Saunton Beach and Braunton Burrows. View a site map.

What is the dog charge?

You will be charged £40 in 2023 for the first dog per booking/week and the second/subsequent dogs will go free.

What are your booking options?

Our standard booking options are as follows:
3 night weekend breaks (Friday to Monday), 4 night short week breaks (Monday to Friday), and 7 night week breaks (Friday to Friday or Monday – Monday). We can often accommodate non-standard breaks in low season depending on availability, please call us on 01271 890052 if you wish to arrange a non-standard break.

What are your payment options?

We require a 25% deposit for any break made more than 8 weeks in advance. Bookings made for dates less than 8 weeks in advance must be paid for in full at the time of booking.

Are the Villas accessible for wheelchair users?

We have recently launched our Accessible Bungalow in Braunton. This fully accessible bungalow has been thoughtfully designed with wheelchair users and guests with reduced mobility in mind. Please click here to view full details.
Our Villas are generally accessible for wheelchair users with the ability to transfer. All of our Villas are different and some are more accessible to wheelchair users than others. We have compiled an Accessibility Guide which details the accessibility of the Villas, the Beach and the other facilities here. If you’re considering a break and need to discuss accessibility, please get in touch.

Is linen provided?

Linen is provided for all of the beds during your stay, but not for travel cots. We also provide one hand towel and a bath mat. Please do ensure you bring your own personal bath towels with you as these will not be provided. Upon arrival, your villa will have the essentials for a comfortable first night – an oven glove, a tea towel, a dish cloth, a small amount of washing up liquid, one toilet roll, and one bin bag.

Do the Villas have ovens?

Yes, all Villas have a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, microwave, fridge freezer (different style depending on Villa type), Lavazza coffee machine, and a full set of utensils.

Are there supermarkets nearby and do they deliver?

Yes, we have a local Tesco in Braunton (3 miles away) and Tesco, Asda and Sainbury’s stores in Barnstaple (10 miles away). All of these supermarkets deliver to our site. When ordering, you will need to use the villa name and number, followed by ‘Saunton Beach Villas, Saunton, North Devon, EX33 1LG’ as the address. The driver will normally drive to your Villa. They get 20 minutes free turn-around time. We do ask you to schedule a time that is after the official check in time of 4 pm, and preferably after 5 pm to enable you to check in and settle before the delivery arrives.

Can I have BBQs on the beach or in the Villa gardens?

Each Villa has a dedicated slab area for BBQs. Our site is part of the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the Villas are clad in wood with the fencing, gate and picnic bench are also made of wood. Please exercise caution when using BBQs and keep them confined to the slabs. Although we do not encourage the use of disposable BBQs on the beach, if you do choose to use one then we would then ask that you are very careful in their use, and use the dedicated ‘BBQ disposal rubbish bins’ to dispose of the used BBQ.

What about car parking?

We allocate 1 free parking space per bedroom in your Villa (4 Berth = 2 free parking spaces, 6 Berth = 3 free parking spaces, 8 Berth = 4 free parking spaces). We have one marked allocated parking space per villa, the other cars can park in any other unmarked space in the car park. Please make sure that you do not park in the allocated spaces for other villas.
You will be granted free access to the car park from midday on your check-in date, until midday on your check-out date. Time spent in the car park outside of these hours will be chargeable. To ensure you don’t incur a parking fee, we ask that you provide us with ALL registration details for your party at least a week before you check in. If you’re expecting day guests, they will be required to pay for parking.

Do you have an EV charging point?

We do not have electric vehicle charging facilities here on site and we ask that guests DO NOT use cables to charge their vehicles from their Villa as this is a health and safety risk. The closest EV charging points are:
– Braunton Service Station (Instavolt)
– Tesco Braunton (Pod Point)
– Williams Arms Braunton (other)

Do you have Wifi?

Yes! Following a large upgrade of our internet system, each Villa now has ultra-fast Wi-Fi with speeds often in excess of 200mbps. Ideal if you need to work whilst your here, or just for posting hundreds of photos of your dog on Instagram (don’t forget to tag us! @sauntonbeachvillas)

What is the difference between the standard 4 berth Villas and the deluxe 4 berth Villas?

The deluxe Villas are our most popular Villas, mostly because they are so close to the beach and enjoy sea views from the gardens. The deluxe Villas are more spacious than the standard 4 berth Villas; with a more open-plan layout and much larger gardens. The deluxe Villas also benefit from ‘extras’ including a private parking space away from the main car park and a washer/dryer. Owing to the popularity of the deluxe Villas, we advise booking as far in advance as possible!

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in: 4pm
Check-out: 10am

Please collect your key code from Reception. If you will be arriving after 4pm, your Villa’s key code will be sent via email. Whilst we do our best to send key codes prior to 4pm, this can’t be guaranteed.
