Parks, Playgrounds & Bike Trails
If you’re looking to get out and about with the kids but don’t want to spend a fortune, then head to one of our local parks. If you’ve brought your bikes, your can access the Tarka Trail (cycle and footpath) in Braunton. Braunton also has a fantastic Pump Track which is a great space for older kids.
Chaloners Road Play Area
CHALONERS RD, BRAUNTON EX33 2ES
A great play area in Braunton located behind the library, with swings, climbing frames, rockers etc. They have recently installed new inclusive play equipment too. There is pay and display parking by the library.
Rock Park, Barnstaple
LADIES MILE, BARNSTAPLE EX32 9AQ
The largest park in the area, Rock Park has excellent play areas, sports pitches, an outdoor gym, a refreshments kiosk and public toilets. There is also a great skate park and BMX track. There is free parking on ‘Ladies’ Mile’ which runs alongside the park.
Croyde Monkey Ship
JONES’ HILL, CROYDE EX33 1LX
Children can clamber up to the ship via the giant carved log steps, then scramble up the net ‘rigging’ before whizzing down the slide or whooshing down the fireman’s pole. Highly recommended! Located behind the main car park in Croyde.
