At Saunton Beach Villas, dogs are genuinely welcomed as part of the family. We understand how important it is to holiday together, which is why there are no restrictions on the number, breed or size of dogs you can bring when you stay with us.

Each Beach Villa has its own fully enclosed, fenced garden, providing a safe and secure outdoor space for dogs to relax and play. Just moments away is Saunton Sands, a dog-friendly beach all year round, so you never have to worry about seasonal bans or restricted access.

With 3.5 miles of golden sand, space to spread out and the dunes of Braunton Burrows to explore, Saunton Sands is ideal for dogs that love to run, paddle or enjoy longer coastal walks. Quieter areas can easily be found further along the beach or within the dunes, making it a great choice for dogs that prefer a little more space.

Together, our dog-friendly accommodation, secure outdoor gardens and easy access to a truly dog-friendly beach make Saunton Beach Villas a relaxed and welcoming choice for dog-friendly holidays in North Devon and the UK.

The majority of our Villas occupy a privileged and convenient location along the edge of the bottom car park at Saunton, beside Braunton Burrows. Our two Deluxe 4 berth Villas enjoy a prime location closer the the beach; simply head out of the gate and down the path to the beach. Each Villa has one reserved parking space, additional cars are welcome to park in the main car park.

Our 4 Berth Deluxe Villas, Dunes 1 and 2, are the site’s most popular Villas due to their location beside the beach, their premium interior, and their extra large gardens with decking and outdoor furniture. They also benefit from a private parking space away from the main car park.

Each Villa at Saunton Beach Villas has its own fully enclosed, fenced garden, giving dogs a safe and secure outdoor space to roam freely. The gardens are ideal for quick outdoor breaks as well as relaxed downtime between beach walks. After time spent on the sand or exploring the dunes, guests can make use of our outdoor showers, which are perfect for rinsing sandy paws, muddy boots and wetsuits after a day outdoors.

To make travelling with dogs easier, dog crates are available on request, helping to save valuable space in the car. On arrival, our canine guests are welcomed with a Doggy Box, complete with a selection of treats and an exclusive Saunton Beach Villas dog tag to wear during their stay.

We do not charge per dog per night. Instead, a £40 dog fee covers all dogs for the duration of your stay, up to seven days, making Saunton Beach Villas a great-value choice for guests travelling with more than one dog.

We take great pride in our dog-friendly credentials and are delighted to have been recognised in the Devon Tourism Awards, winning Gold in ‘Dog-Friendly Business of the Year’ category.

A Base for Exploring North Devon and the South West

With Saunton Sands on your doorstep, it is easy to enjoy beach walks, surfing, sea swimming and relaxed dog walks just moments from your Villa. The beach stretches for around three miles of golden sand and faces west across the Atlantic, creating spectacular sunsets that are widely regarded as some of the best in the UK.

On clear days, views extend out to Lundy Island, with boat trips available from Ilfracombe, while the coastline stretches north towards Westward Ho!, Clovelly and Hartland.

Saunton is also renowned for its surf, attracting surfers throughout the year. With a high tidal range of approximately 8.5 metres, the beach is known for its long, rolling waves, which are particularly popular with longboard surfers and those learning to surf.

Backing the beach is Braunton Burrows, the largest sand dune system in England. Covering around 1,000 hectares, Braunton Burrows sits at the heart of the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and forms part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, protecting rare plant and insect life. The dunes offer a unique landscape for walking and exploring, particularly popular with dog owners looking for longer, varied routes away from the shoreline.

For keen walkers, the South West Coast Path runs for 630 miles along the coastline of the South West, with around 90 miles passing through North Devon. This dramatic stretch of the path offers breathtaking coastal scenery and passes through highlights such as Combe Martin, Lee Bay, Mortehoe, Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde. Whether you prefer gentle strolls or longer coastal hikes, this area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
