Located off-site in the village of Braunton (5 min drive from Saunton Beach), our newly converted accessible bungalow sleeps 4 guests comfortably, with an additional sofa bed that sleeps a further 2. This single-storey property has been thoughtfully designed for wheelchair users and mobility-impaired guests to enjoy a holiday in Devon with their dogs. The property is one of the very few in our area to offer a tracking ceiling hoist that runs from the master bedroom into the ensuite wetroom.

Bedrooms
The property has 2 bedrooms; one master bedroom with an ensuite wet room, and a twin bedroom. Cupboard space has been cleverly built into the walls to maximise floor space and provide ease of access. The master bed features a Tempur Adjustable Massage bed (non-profiling). This bed is king size and is independently adjustable on either side using wireless remote controls. The single beds in the twin bedroom are electrically adjustable (non-profiling) using a wired handset.
Bathrooms
In the ensuite wetroom, you’ll find a shower, WC with rails (with seat raiser available), shower seat, a tilt-in-space chair with a commode, and a stool. A ceiling hoist runs on an H track from the master bedroom to the ensuite wetroom giving access to the WC, shower and basin. There is also a family bathroom with an accessible walk-in bath.
Kitchen
The modern fully-equipped kitchen features a tuck-away oven, dishwasher, height-adjustable sink, height-adjustable hob, remote-controlled extractor fan, and an easy-pour kettle. The beautiful breakfast bar, complete with 2 easy access sockets, creates a wonderfully relaxed space for family cooking and dining.
Living Room
The spacious open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area is perfect for relaxing and entertaining. In the living area, you’ll find a corner sofa (sofa bed) and an electric riser chair which are centered around a smart TV on an extendable bracket arm.
Garden and Outside Space
The sliding doors from the living area open up onto a sun trap decking area which leads onto the patio and wheelchair-accessible picnic table. The attractive garden wraps right around the property and is fully enclosed to keep dogs secure.
Outside to the right of the sliding doors, you’ll also find a laundry shed with a washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer, and an iron and ironing board.

Parking Information
The accessible bungalow is situated within walking distance of Braunton village centre and 1.3 miles (3 minutes drive) away from Saunton Sands Beach. It is also on the main bus route which serves all of the local coastal areas, including Saunton, Croyde, and in the opposite direction Westward Ho!. The West Meadow Road Bus stop is served by the Stagecoach 21 C service - more information.
There is a parking space for one car outside of the property’s garage door (garage not accessible to guests) and ample street parking (with dropped curbs) around the property. The accessible entrance is reached via a gentle paved slope (hand rails either side). A 93cm wide sliding door opens into the open-plan living space via a rubber threshold ramp.

Ceiling Hoist: Freeway Transactive Xtra. Weight limit 130kg. Please refer to manuals and operating instructions before using this equipment. Please do not twist the cord. Please do not lift weight at a vertical angle. There is a white tag next to the arrows at the end of the tape, please ensure that the arrows and white tag are visible at all times and not raised into the machine as it will cause damage.

Dogs
The Bungalow is totally dog friendly. We do not limit the number of dogs that you can bring, nor do we restrict on breed/size. The garden is gated and enclosed. We provide dog bowls, a cover for the sofa, and a couple of small dog blankets. We can provide a medium or XL dog crate if required (please select as an extra at the time of booking).
Shopping Deliveries
Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys all provide a grocery delivery service to our area. There is a Tesco store in Braunton which has an accessible toilet.
Buses and Transport
The 21C bus serves West Meadow Road, providing a regular service between Croyde and Barnstaple. Please click here for more information - please set your location to 'West Meadow Road, Braunton, North Devon'.
The closest train station is Barnstaple. Services from Barnstaple run to Exeter.
