Surfing is one of North Devon’s most famous and popular activities. We are lucky enough to boast some of the best surfing beaches in the UK, as well as some of the best waves. Whether you are an experienced surfer or if you’ve never surfed before, North Devon’s beaches cater for all. Saunton beach is great for beginners and even better, it’s on your doorstep.

North Devon first in UK to become World Surfing Reserve!

We’re delighted to announce that North Devon is the first place in the UK to be selected as a World Surfing Reserve. We join an exclusive list that includes Malibu and Santa Cruz in California, and the Gold Coast and Manly in Australia. The World Surfing Reserve programme aims to protect surf ecosystems around the globe and recognises surf quality as well as its importance in the local community.

Surf Saunton

Surf Saunton’s instructors are fully qualified ISA instructors as well as qualified beach lifeguards. They provide surf lessons for ages and abilities. One to one and group lessons available.

Walking On Waves

Walking on Waves are based at Saunton Beach and offer group and private surf lessons. They also run ‘Surfing Safaris’ which explore more of beach away from the crowds.
