New Beach Wheelchairs and Mobility Aids at Saunton Beach
We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy the beach, and we are proud to continue improving accessibility here at Saunton.
Through our partnership with Access For All, and thanks to funding from the North Devon Coast National Landscape, we’ve recently taken delivery of some new beach mobility equipment to add to our fleet of Beach Wheelchairs here at Saunton.
This new equipment has been carefully selected to support all ages and a wide range of access needs and is available to hire free of charge. Saunton Beach is proud to host:

- A Hippocampe beach wheelchair with a beaded insert for enhanced posture and comfort
- A rollator designed to handle sandy terrain
- An inflatable insert for the Hippocampe, allowing younger children to enjoy the beach
- A mobile hydraulic hoist to assist with transfers
This is a significant step forward in making Saunton Beach, and indeed the beaches of North Devon, more accessible for all, and we are incredibly proud to be part of it.
A welcome addition to our existing fleet of Sandcruisers
This new equipment sits alongside our own fleet of Sandcruiser beach wheelchairs. Together, this range of equipment opens up the beach to more people, enabling everyone to enjoy Saunton Beach with freedom, ease, and comfort.
We have a number of Sandcruisers available to hire.
